National Day For Truth and Reconciliation in Canada

September 30, 2021 marks the first National Day For Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. Findlay Real Estate & Century 21 Canada has chosen to close our offices to observe the day and show our respect.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on our country’s past and the legacy of the trauma to Indigenous peoples. The summer of 2021 caused Canada to pause as we once again became aware of the realities of Indigenous lives lost, especially of the precious children taken from their families. For non-Indigenous people, it brought awareness and exposure to harsh truths they many have not heard. For Indigenous families, it was a reminder of the real harm and violence that not only began in the early days of Canada, but continues with public sector systems, legislation and social policies in Canada.

The truth matters and today we don’t turn our eyes away. Today, we acknowledge that dark truth. . . .
